Frank married Amanda Catherine SAWYER, daughter of Dionysius SAWYER and Elizabeth DANIELS on November 8, 1883. Amanda was born March 15, 1865 and died on May 26, 1955 and was buried in Mexia Cemetery, Mexia, Alabama. They had the following children:

28. Willie SMITH was born on March 3, 1885 in Mexia, Alabama and died on June 12, 1885 in Mexia, Alabama and was buried in Smith-Bohannon Cemetery, Mexia, Alabama.

29. James "Jim" SMITH was born March 18, 1887 in Mexia, Alabama and died June 27, 1961.

30. Bertha SMITH was born April 3, 1889 and died August 5, 1890 and was buried in Smith-Bohannon Cemetery, Mexia, Alabama.

31. Hiram SMITH was born January 10, 1891 and died August 6, 1901 and was buried in Smith-Bohannon Cemetery, Mexia, Alabama.

32. * Duncan SMITH was born July 3, 1892 on died March 22, 1900 and was buried in Smith-Bohannon Cemetery, Mexia, Alabama.

33. * Burt Thomas SMITH was born October 6, 1892 and died October 14, 1954.

34. Leila SMITH was born July 14, 1894 and died June 15, 1971 and was buried in Mexia Cemetery, Mexia, Alabama. Leila married Edward D. OUSLEY. Edward was born October 9, 1891 and died October 25, 1962 and was buried in Mexia Cemetery, Mexia, Alabama.

35. Zadie SMITH was born October 28, 1895 and died July 14, 1983 and was buried in Mexia Cemetery, Mexia, Alabama.

36. Benjamin Franklin SMITH Jr. was born March 16, 1899 and died May 24, 1964.

37. Ralph Louis SMITH was born June 15, 1901 and died December 19, 1975.

38. Esther SMITH born March 26, 1903 and died January 24, 1904 and was buried in Smith-Bohannon Cemetery, Mexia, Alabama.

39. Homer SMITH born December 17, 1905 and died April 20, 1938.

40. Bernie SMITH born December 2, 1906 and died May 3, 1972 and was buried in Mexia Cemetery, Mexia, Alabama.

41. Ezra SMITH born June 15, 1910 and died August 6, 1980 and was buried in Mexia Cemetery, Mexia, Alabama.

It is not known what caused the deaths of Willie, Bertha, Duncan, and Esther so young in life, however, it is known that Jim accidently shot Hiram while hunting and Hiram died as a result of this tragic accident.

* Duncan's birth year is recorded from his tombstone. Burt's birth year is recorded from his tombstone in the Mexia Cemetery. Obviously, they both could not have been born 3 months apart in in the same year. Being the Duncan's tombstone is much older, and given, the fact that Duncan was very young when he died, it is very likely that the birthdate on his grave marker is incorrect.

20. Edward SMITH (Hiram SMITH, "John" SMITH) was born on May 24, 1866 and died on September 10, 1935 and was buried in Mexia Cemetery, Mexia, Alabama. He married Madeline LOWERY. Madeline was born in 1875 and died in 1958 and was buried in Mexia, Mexia, Alabama. They had the following children:
